Hello KK... again!

Greetings from the Land Below the Wind!!

Had a pretty relaxing day today. Flew here with 3 doctors in the afternoon... then brought them shopping at the Filipino Market. These ladies can really buy!

Only four of us from Malaysia... Malaysia Boleh!

After dinner with the group it was back to our rooms. Am really thankful I am with a bunch of homely, warm, motherly doctors. No late night partying! Yay!! :-)

When I got back to the room, the hotel people have re-made up the room and left a cute little note card.

A thought for tomorrow??

Look at the last item suggested... *sigh* would luv 2 do that wt bf. Made me miss him pulak...

Oh, well, the room is so pretty... got sea view some more. Bath was pretty too, better not waste it.

Me enjoying some tv after a nice long bubble bath!

Aaahhh.... going to bed now. Goodnight!

BJ at last!

For the past week, I have been trying to attend a Bodyjam class since last Monday's disappointment when Instructor-Talkalot replace one of my fav instructors' class. After that, I was craving to attend a good hearty BJ class.

Alas! I seemed to be fated to not have any BJ class fit my schedule since then:

Tue: Bestfriend's birthday!!! So pergi celebrate.
Wed: It was Rockstar Bollywood at Axis. I like Azie's class but dun really like Bollywood... probably because I dah ketinggalan 3 class already, got completely lost at recap time.
Thu: Got music practice in church. On duty for worship team last Sunday.
Fri: Haven't seen bf for days so decided to go for his BP class.
Sat: House spring cleaning day. By the time I was done, dah terlampau tired to move.
Sunday: wanted to go to FF LM for BJ, mana tau it's Rockstar Bollywood. So I went for combat in SPK instead.
Monday: Rushed like mad to attend BJ at FF LM, mana tau it was Michelle's BP class. I attended anyway since I was already there and I do enjoy her RPM & BC classes.

Today finally, I managed to attend Crystal's BJ!!! Wow! That gal didn't even stop for a single sip of water. I think we did a full class in a 45min slot. Finally had a great cardio workout and satisfied my BJ crave... just in time too. Tomorrow, I'll be flying off to KK, will be working through Merdeka Day and d weekend. So no more gym till next week!

Time management? Malaysia TAK Boleh!

Time is money?

No, that concept is totally wrong. You can earn more money if you lose or waste some but you can never earn more time. You can never make up for time wasted. Everyone has the same amount, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There is nothing you can do to earn more of it.

Although Our National Day is approaching and I can’t possibly feel very patriotic right now. When it comes to time management, Malaysia TAK Boleh. When it comes to knowing the value of time, Malaysia TAK Boleh.

How often have you waited for someone for ages who comes waltzing in saying that it was the traffic jam? Well, I’ve been on the waiting end very often. Is this the first day that there is traffic jam in KL? Nope, it has been around for ages. Then why is the concept of taking traffic jam into account when you make an appointment with someone so hard to comprehend?

How often does a meeting drag on and on just because someone just couldn’t stop talking? Extremely often in this country, even Sunday sermons are not spared! If a 2 hour long message can be told effectively in 30mins, does that mean that the message is any less valuable? In fact, the attention span of a regular human being is less than ½ an hour so any message shorter than that will get better retention. After 40 minutes, the speaker has probably lost 80% of his audience.
The other day I attended a Bodyjam class in FF IOI. And the instructor actually talked 5 whole minutes before each song! Not only did he show each and every move through out the song, he repeated them many times before starting the music. Does he know that there are members who go to his class to get a good 1-hour workout? Not a ½ hour workout and ½ hour speech!

Government services too do not see value in other people’s time. How often have you waited endlessly for a service that takes no longer than 5 minutes? Why is it that the LHDN impose a strict deadline for our tax returns forms yet they have not even keyed in my taxes from 2 years ago!! How can I get back my refunds in one-month (as they claim in the newspapers) when the forms I have submitted haven’t even been touched? Probably still stuck under some pile in someone’s in-tray.

It’s not that Malaysian have no capability to be punctual, it is whether they value the other person or the event. If your boss tells you to submit a report on the 1st of every month, you’ll be compliant. If your finance department tells you the cut-off date to submit claims is on the 30th, you’ll be compliant. If your church tells you to submit your choice of songs by Tuesdays, it never comes on Tuesday. How often does someone pays for a ticket to watch a movie, a football game, a theatre performance or any event and comes waltzing in an hour and a half late? If it was a free event, how often are they late? I rest my case. And don't even get me started on punctuality for wedding dinners...

To cut this country some slack, there still are people with excellent time-management out there. Pastor Daniel is one of them. His Sunday sermons always end on time yet the messages were effectively retained. His worship practices can finish in an hour. It’s 1xverse, 1xchorus & 1xbridge for each song then only repeat the difficult part in the difficult songs. The result? Wonderful yet time-efficient. His homegroup discussion always finished at 10pm because he understand that there are members who stay far and needs to leave earlier. That’s why I miss his leadership so much.

Then there is my boss. She is never late and always submits all her work on time. Her workload is huge!! Before I existed she was even doing it all alone. Yet she has time to do all her domestic chores herself, bring her siblings and their children for vacations and take her yearly long sabbatical to be with her family in the UK. What’s her secret? Time-management!

I have always been patient, I have even waited for a friend for 3 hours before but everyone has a limit. (Everyone but God. I’m not God) I feel that I am reaching my limit soon. My well of patience is almost dry now, all used up. If people do not value my time, I shall not give it to them. For it is extremely precious to me. And to think that I have wasted so much of it waiting for people makes me feel heartsick. My time on earth is pre-determined by God. No more, no less. Every nano-second is precious... for they do not crawl by but they fly by.

Till we meet again, Speckles...

Speckle has gone home to his Maker last Friday...

He will be missed. I know exactly how heart-broken my bestfriend feels.
When my previous dog, Lady died several years ago of some sickness, I completely broke down but I found this article which sort-of comforted me... so I'd like to share this with her.

This is actually dedicated to all pet-lovers in this world who has lost a pet... I do not know who the author is but it is so beautiful.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

All paws on deck!!

Just went to the Annual Dogathon in UPM on Sunday. This year they even have a theme... Pirates: All Paws On Deck! So many cute doggies around.

Too bad I couldn't bring Melodie along because she's just so jakun and possesive, she was so noisy and hostile to the other dogs when I brought her last year. It was just as well because all d games were full anyway. If I had brought her we wouldn't have been able to participate in anything. So I just ended up buying lotsa new stuff for her!

Always feel happy to see sooooo many dogs around, especially puppies. Actually I really regret not doing veterinary medicine...

Here are some shots from Sunday

Da huge St Bernards... lazing around.

Lit choice

Just came back from Singapore about a couple of hours ago. Was in Bintan Island on Wed-Fri for my company training.

As I was leaving home for the airport to fly to Singapore, as usual I’d pack in something to read. The best time to catch up on my reading is during those long waiting time at the airport.

I was reading this

As you can see from the position of the bookmark, I am almost done with the book and am really anticipating to know how the story ends. However, this is a company thing. I guess it won’t do me any good to have my bosses see me read a chic lit. Perception or image is absolutely important in the corporate world so it definitely wouldn’t do my career any good to be perceived as the one who’s taste in literature is stuck somewhere in adolescence.

Especially since the day before, my big boss just loaned me this.

Oh no! Another one of those boring marketing self-help stuff.

Hmm, should I satisfy my curiosity for the ending of my chic lit or feed my corporate image in the company? I decided to choose the latter. I still want to work here. Ha!

Anyway, I’m more than halfway through the branding book and it isn’t so bad after all. The authors made it really simple and witty. They injected some sense of humour into too. They just shed light in areas that you probably already know about but never noticed or gave it much thought. Quite a good read!

Guess being a career-minded woman isn’t so bad after all. After all, I can always morph back into my girly self when I get back home to my nice pink room scented with lavender and curl up in bed with my chic lit!!

Anyway, gotta go to bed now. Going to the annual Dogathon tomorrow morning... that's why I cut my Singapore trip a bit short. Sigh! Bf just realized he couldn't make it at the last minute. Thought I'd have to go alone when luckily my dog-lover friend smsed me that she'll be going! Got teman to enjoy seeing all the cute doggies!! Goodnite!!

Banned from the gym!!

I'm home early today because my mom has banned me from going to the gym this week. All because I blacked out after donating blood last Friday... and had headaches the subsequently. Cheh!! It's not like it's the first time I'm donating. No biggy... I'm sure my body has manufactured back all the blood I've given after a couple of days. Anyway, I'm obediently staying home and taking all my iron supplements.

Oh, well... m going to Bintan then Singapore from tomorrow till Sat anyway. Will resume my gxholic activities when I come back.

Astalavista baby! Aeeell bee bak!

Phrase of the day

On my way to work this morning, I heard on Red FM, Beauty and the Beast's phrase of the day. "Think like a man of action. Act like a man of thought" The DJ, Nell said it is very profound. Indeed it is, but of what value???

If a man of action acts without thinking, to think like him would be to not think at all. Right?
And if a man of thought does not act upon his thoughts, to act like him would mean to do nothing. Right?

So, the phrase of the day is ask us not to think and not to act... just stay idle in thought and action.

Maybe I should skip work and go back to sleep... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Feast after feast

Yesterday I met up with some of my ex-colleagues, Mel and Zen for lunch. Coincidentally, all 3 of us were in the vicinity of HKL. So we decided to have the chilli pan mee off Jalan Pahang. Boy was it yummy!!

putting chilli in the pan mee

All mixed up!

Side dish

The chilli was soooooo hot and really potent, both Mel and I felt the fire in our tummy even until dinnertime!! But the stomach discomfort was well worth it!! Aaahh... the price of a good potent chilli paste!

Today, I went out for dinner with my sis at Genki Sushi... courtesy of HSBC. Thanks to my heavy card expenditures (mostly for work ok? I bukan that kaya), I get to redeem stuff with d points pretty often. Knowing how "wai sek" I am, I always redeem dining vouchers... heheh, free meals!! ;-p

Round and round they go

Our wasabe soy sauce paste, looks quite yucky actually

Dessert!

After dinner, we went shopping to work off the dinner. Couldn't resist the temptation of the Mega Sale... argh!!
new shoes! A thrill for all womankind
