Unconditional love ;-)

It's Valentine's Day... hubs is gonna be home late so am still lepaking around awaiting him to burst through the door for our big fat Valentine's kiss! While today, most people would talk about love between a man and a woman, I am gonna talk about the strange unconditional love people have for their pets. With your partner, your kids, your parents... you have certain expectations from them even if you love them to bits, true?

With pets, do we have expectations??

Lo and behold!! Notice the horrendous state of my couch and cushions??
"you're never here anyway, this is OUR couch... meow"
"what???? prrrr prrrr"
And what do I do if I ever catch them red handed in their destructive activities? I unleash the wrath of....
...
...
...
...
...
the lean mean... squirty bottle!!
They too have their secret weapon... they unleash....

"mew"
"mew"
... THE FACE. You melt, and think "Holes in the couch ain't so bad. Gives the house a new-age I-don't-give-a-damn-artiste motif, don't you think??" I love my kittehs, and the love for someone/something that can do nothing for you... is unconditional love. Meow! Happy Valentine's Day!! ;-)

Wanted: Medical supplies

A friend of mine who's a vet, will be going for an animal rescue mission for the Thailand floods. The volunteer team will need a bunch of basic medical supplies such as absorbable sutures, syringes, needles, anaesthetics, gloves, common drugs etc etc. If you or you know of any companies/hospital with short expiry or recently expired medical supplies, you can send it to SPCA Selangor (at Ampang near International School of KL) or you can drop me a message on my chat-box if you need more detailed directions. SPCA's telephone number is 03 - 42565312.

Animals are helpless in such situations, and will need help from their human friends. Let's lend them a helping hand in this noble rescue mission.

Purrrfect Partner

Much to Orked's dismay... and to mine, hubby brought home a new cat!

He was scrawny, hungry & completely jakun!! He followed hubby all the way to his car in the streets of Taman Megah and so, we called him Megah.

Hubby brought him to the vet to be all prepped up before we would introduce him to Orked.

But after a couple of weeks... we both changed out minds. Megah has won us both over with his muka seposen and super gentle ways.

Now they are best of friends, just like real siblings... aawwww

Mommy, my cat is broken!

It's been 3 weeks since our baby Orked came come with us. I discovered a few weird things about her.

1. She doesn't like fishy foods... especially wet ones.

2. She prefers to play wt ice cube than to have a piece of treat.

3. She bites!! She greets you at the door! And she plays with balls!! Maybe she thinks she's a dog?

4. She's not really anti-water, she likes to sit and wait near you while you shower!

She must be a broken cat... hhhmmm, but super cute nevertheless!! You can't help but love dat funny little furball. Aaawwww....

Till we meet again, Speckles...

Speckle has gone home to his Maker last Friday...

He will be missed. I know exactly how heart-broken my bestfriend feels.
When my previous dog, Lady died several years ago of some sickness, I completely broke down but I found this article which sort-of comforted me... so I'd like to share this with her.

This is actually dedicated to all pet-lovers in this world who has lost a pet... I do not know who the author is but it is so beautiful.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

All paws on deck!!

Just went to the Annual Dogathon in UPM on Sunday. This year they even have a theme... Pirates: All Paws On Deck! So many cute doggies around.

Too bad I couldn't bring Melodie along because she's just so jakun and possesive, she was so noisy and hostile to the other dogs when I brought her last year. It was just as well because all d games were full anyway. If I had brought her we wouldn't have been able to participate in anything. So I just ended up buying lotsa new stuff for her!

Always feel happy to see sooooo many dogs around, especially puppies. Actually I really regret not doing veterinary medicine...

Here are some shots from Sunday

Mel's annual affair

I'm back with the bunnies today!! ...that's why I have access to the internet.

Anyway, Melodie's annual affair is her vaccination. Last Saturday, I finally brought her to the vet. This time I decided to drive further and not go to the nearby vet. So I brought her back to her old vet in Cheras.

The doctor was really nice. He said Melodie was in the pink of health! Told him about my difficulty of bringing her in a car and he even suggested I buy the drug at the clinic and get my vet friend to do the injection for Mel. See what I mean? There ARE doctors out there who cares more about the animals than making money! The injection went smooth... Mel didn't even feel a thing! Here we go!

On the way home, she was a good little girl all the way. I bet it was a relief for her to finally reach home.

Aaahhh, grass sweet grass

Home sweet home!
