Purrrfect Partner

Much to Orked's dismay... and to mine, hubby brought home a new cat!

He was scrawny, hungry & completely jakun!! He followed hubby all the way to his car in the streets of Taman Megah and so, we called him Megah.

Hubby brought him to the vet to be all prepped up before we would introduce him to Orked.

But after a couple of weeks... we both changed out minds. Megah has won us both over with his muka seposen and super gentle ways.

Now they are best of friends, just like real siblings... aawwww

My debut wt Six2Eight!!!

Last Thurs nite was my first ever performance with Six2Eight!! :) :)

It was a corporate function so could not ask all my gang & fans to come support me. Muahahah. Anyway, it was pretty fun to part of the team!!

Sound-check! Douglas Lim was there for a stand-up comedy act

The super beautiful & bubbly Jojo Struys was the emcee

They must have one helluva budget with all da big names performing. In fact, methinks they kinda overdid the performances by having too many performers. Dancers la, acapella singers [us, of course ;)], stand-up comedy, drummers, and lots lots more. How to fit all in one night???? Takpe la, orang terlampau banyak duit kot? :p

Six2Eight awaiting our turn to perform & snacking...teehehehe

Backstage!! Eh, d fler taking our photo menggigil ke?

Theme of the nite was... Grease!!!

This ain't no Greased-Lightning?

Va-va-vrrrrrooommmmm

Anyway, our performance was cut short due to time constraints. :( Expected pun, they had toooo many performances lined up for that night. Oh, well... it was a wonderful & fun performance anyway. Loved "We Go Together" the most!!! Wap-bap-belubap-a-Wap-Bam-Boom!!!!

A singing resignation?

My wedding was a musical, my life is a musical... so why not my resignation too, a musical?? ;)

I will miss her dearly... never have I ever encountered any boss-subordinate relationship like ours: such trust, such transparency & such sincerity. But sometimes in life we just have have to move on. I still love her & respect her as a friend, and will forever feel grateful to have her as part of not only my career but my life journey. :)

So, what is my song to her? Singing a Kelly Clarkson may be quite a challenge, but I'll do it for her. :)

Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I'd just stare out my window

Dreaming of what could be
And if I'd end up happy
I would pray

Trying hard to reach out
But when I'd try to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me

Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I pray
I could breakaway

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes ?til I touch the sky
And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget all the ones that I loved
I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean

Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jet plane, far away
And breakaway

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes 'til I touch the sky
And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Out of the darkness and into the sun
I won't forget all the ones that I loved
I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging 'round revolving doors
Maybe I don't know where they'll take me but
Gotta keep moving on, moving on
Fly away, breakaway

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye
I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget the place I come from
I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway, breakaway, breakaway!

A Bollywood Encounter

Since the completion of my thesis & the Mamak Mee Ah 2nd run in both Penang and KL, I suddenly had a lot of time in my hands. heheheh. Macam tak biasa. TV, gym, blogging, and a social life that is beyond facebook!

After years of MIA-ing from the Muhibbah Network scene, I joined this year's first mixer... ala Bollywood!

Time to get all dolled up & Indianified for the occasion...woohoo!!!

Some yummy authentic Indian grub.... mostly vegetarian. Only 3 meat dishes which were placed separately on a different section. Very good!!! Reminds me of those wonderful dinners @Anish & Gauri's.

Our wonderful hostesses, Michelle & Neera. Thanks for organizing this!!

Our very own talented & beautiful Ellyne shakin' her booteh Bollywood style.

It was nice catching up with some old friends, Ellyne & Nyza.

And making new ones, like d crazy funny Nazeen frm Hyderabad.

I love having time!!! :) :)

Playing the wrong part

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, there lived a beautiful pianist. She was a wonderful pianist who could play beautiful music that can touch hearts of millions. The orchestra recognises that she has an outstanding musical talent. They decided to groom her to become the orchestra conductor, leading the entire team to play a beautiful symphony.

They want her to learn the other instruments in order to grow her... one of which was the violin. It was obvious her talent was not the violin. She was struggling to play the violin and was not playing well. The orchestra directors had high expectation and hopes for this talented musician. They were very patient and forgiving towards all her mistakes in playing the violin. Being a talented musician in the first place, she can still get the basic right; rhythm, notes... but there was no soul in her violin sounds.

The pianist cringed everytime she hears her own violin sounds, everytime she hears the orchestra play together when she was on the violin. The symphony did not sound beautiful like it used to. The whole symphony is spoiled by her very own violin sounds. Although her director is forgiving, she is not happy with that sound. Being a musician that demands excellence made it even worse for her to hear an orchestra sound so bad.

Therefore, no matter how nice, forgiving & encouraging her directors in this orchestra is to her, she needs to look for a new orchestra. For one where she can play the piano, where she can be groomed to be the conducter with better and wonderfully talented violinists around to complement her weaknesses. Then lead the whole orchestra to play a beautiful symphony once more.

Car for Adoption

My Toyota Vios 1.5E (A) has been my trusty ride for the past...nearly 6 years. Now, it is time for me to move on and let her go. I have been her one and only guardian all these years. I am now looking for a new loving home for her.

She was born on 3rd June 2004. She is golden brown in colour (blondes have more fun rite? :p) She has been well taken care of, with all her service maintenance records filed since the day she was born. She has been very well behaved, never once did she threw a tantrum or given me any problems all these years. She has gone on many wonderful journeys with me and has walked 150xxxkm so far. I can hardly recall any day that I did not spend with her at all.

Here are some photos of her.

Good girl... *pat pat pat*
